FBC Revival June 2012

We are in revival this week. Bro. Brady Rochester is our guest preacher and his family
are going to be singing all week. They are always such a blessing. If you are in our area, we'd
love to have you come out and visit.

Here is a little sample of what you will hear if you can join us.

VBS Bug Zone Night Three

Last night, in the skit, Emily (our bumbling exterminator) was supposed to be disguised as an aunt because she didn't want any ants to recognize her.

I didn't manage to get the complete video of the skit last night but I did get a video of the kids singing. It's so cute!

VBS "Bug Zone" Night Two

Our second night of VBS went great! We had almost the same number of kids. Here are just a few pictures.

Here is a picture of "Bee", our bumbling, nervous, very "afraid of bugs" exterminator.

A couple of pictures during craft time.

The junior boys class have been making model cars.

Here are a couple of pictures of the table decorations Mrs. Barbara
did in the fellowship hall. Each table has it's own bug.

The snack for the evening was jello--adorned by WORMS!
Looks gross, I know! But the kids LOVED it!

The looks on their faces were priceless...especially the girls.
Still, they ate those worms up just as well as the boys. lol

Here is a silly 13 year old with a worm hanging out of her mouth. ;)

Here are a few of our older teens who have been assisting this week.
So far, so good. I have a couple skits to post too, but didn't
get time to upload them yet.
Pray...if you will. Pray for these precious little children
that we have the privilege to be a blessing to this week.
May they never forget the week they spent here and especially
never forget about the One they have learned about.
Each one is special, each loved by the Savior, and
we are grateful to be able to tell them about Him.

VBS 2012

VBS! It's that time of year again! Can you believe it? Here are a few pics from our first night. We had a decent number--44 children in attendance. I'll try to share more as the week progresses.

First a few the decorations. Our teachers do a great job of working with the theme. This year, our theme is "The Bug Zone".

We usually open up with a word from my husband and then prayer.

After that, we usually have a visit from a silly character
who needs to learn some lessons during the week. This
week we were joined by "Bee" as she is known by her friends.
(Actually, the skit was written for "Buzz" but Emily
thought that a little too boyish) ;)
So, here is a link to the video of her and Bro. Jonathan.

After the skit, we had music time. The students learn some
very cute little songs. They usually remember them for a long time after VBS
is over.

We were so happy to have Mrs. Kristan to help with the music this year.

Bro. Ryan always does a fabulous job with the direction of the songs.

The kids have fun learning new songs and learning to
do the motions that go along with them.

Here are the words of the main theme song.

Next, I went to the individual classrooms to get a group
picture with them.

Mrs. Michelle and Mrs. Carla's 4 & 5 year old class

Mrs. Tonia and Mrs. Helen's 6,7, & 8 year old class
(with their helpers-- Westley and Sherry)

Mrs. Peggy and Mrs. Kristan's 9-11 year old girl class

Bro. Randal and Bro. Wendy's 9-11 year old boys class

 Mrs. Teresa's 12 & up girls

Bro. Jonathan and Bro. Ryan's 12 & up boys

They ended up having to move to a corner in the fellowship hall because
of noise and through-traffic where they were at first.

And, of course, there are always the hardworking ladies who
prepare the snacks.

Craft time is always a favorite among the children.

This year, it was decided to have a snack time for ALL the children at once
at the end of evening. It seemed to work out pretty well.

And, at the end, there were prizes! One name was drawn from each class
and they could pick a prize from the prize table.

Here are a couple of lucky winners.

And the finale of the evening... the children get to find
out the winner of the contest between boys and girls for the offering.
(This year, the offering is to go the Wings Bearing Precious Seed for to
help send a container of Bibles to another country)
We always have a contest between boys and girls...just to make it interesting.

Drum roll please.......and the GIRLS have it! But, the
boys will have four more nights to catch up! :)

And last but not least, our sincere thanks must be given
for Mrs. Amy. She is our VBS director and she puts
many, many hours into getting it all planned and organized.
She does a great job.
