A Heartfelt Thank You

No pictures this time…I just wanted to take
a moment to say "Thank You" to our wonderful
church. Sunday night they had a "Pastor
Appreciation Dinner" for our family. I just do not
have the words to express how much we love and
appreciate our church family. You are so good to
us. Thank you so much for the lovely cards, the
gifts, and for the many kind words expressed during
the dinner. We LOVE all of you, and are so grateful
to the Lord that He has allowed us to be a part of such
a wonderful congregation. May God Richly Bless
ALL of you. Thanks again!

Sister Barbara is just one of many wonderful ladies in our church. She
is always busy "doing" something. She works very hard and is always
willing to do whatever needs to be done. Words cannot always express
appreciation adequately, but I DO want so much to say how much I
appreciate all that she does. May the LORD bless her abundantly for
her "servant's heart". She is truly a blessing to us!

Fall Pictures

Fall Pictures

I wanted to take some new pictures of Emily, it's been awhile. I am hoping to be able to use one or two of these for her school pictures. I just LOVE taking pictures in the fall.

Who Is That Masked Girl?

Emily was invited to attend a Fall Fun Night with a friend who attends Mt. Pisgah Christian Academy. The students may dress up, either as a bible character or an animal. Emily wanted to be a bunny. Doesn't she look cute?

Westley Gets a Deer

Today, Saturday, October 25, 2008, is Juvenile Hunt in Morgan County. Westley ( a young man in our church) was blessed this morning to harvest a very nice 5 point buck. Congratulations, Westley, on a great buck!

Company After Church

We had a missionary at church last night. Bro Jeff and Sis Jan Krontz, missionaries to Bulgaria. They have three children, but they weren't with them last night. They have been in Bulgaria for seven years, this was their first furlough. What a tremendous presentation they had! In fact, our church took them on immediately for support. We enjoyed having them so much. After church, I had some refreshments at my house. We invited the missionaries, and a few people from church. Nothing fancy, just bbq sandwiches, and chili and hotdogs. This is one of the parts of being a pastors wife, that I LOVE. I really love having people in my home. ( Now I will admit that with being a homeschooling mom, my house is not always in tip-top condition, but I try) Somehow, I can't seem to get everything done. We sure enjoyed fellowshipping with Bro and Sis Krontz.

Bro Jonathan and Sis Becky "goofing around". Becky's mother, Sis Susan, was helping getting the table cleared. We also had Sis Tammy Adams, and her daughter, Skylar, for a while but Skylar had a paper due, and had to hurry home. I hate that I didn't get the camera out before they left.

Just Some Pictures of Emily

These are some pictures I recently took of Emily on a Sunday morning before church. She looked so grown up, just like a big girl. She is always reminding me that she IS a big girl now. The second picture is of Emily and her kitten, Jasmine. Aren't they cute?

This is Emily practicing her piano lessons. This

is one she recently learned--just before she mastered

it. Sounds so pretty, doesn't it?

FBC Old Timers' Day/Heritage Day

Sunday, October 12th, 2008 Old Timers'/Heritage Day-
A Day to Commerate the Godly Heritage that we have as believers in this great nation.
This is the first time our church has done anything quite like this (atleast since my husband has been pastor). It was a tremendous day! We had several visitors for which we are thankful.
Many of our folks were dressed in old timers' clothes, we had a wonderful service at church, then we went on over to the fish farm for some good ol' fashion eatin',singin',and more preachin'. We had a special preacher for the morning service, Bro. Calvin Queen. He preached a very good message entitled "Old Time Religion is Good Enough for Me". He took his message from the passage Jeremiah 6:16. Why do we believe in "old time religion" in 2008? We believe in 1) the Bible (KJV) 2) the Blood 3) the Blessings of God 4) the Birth of God. Some things that we need in our day are 1) Old Time Pardon 2) Old Time People 3) Old Time Preaching 4) Old Time Praising God. This was a great message reminding us that even though we live in new days, the OLD WAYS still work!

When we arrived at the fish farm, we ate an old time meal (much like the old time homecomings many of us remember). We had a background set up so families could have pictures taken. This was a lot of fun. Then we had another service (this one outdoors--making it easy to appreciate God's goodness in HIS beautiful creation). Bro. Ryan led us in some hymns from the old church hymnal, and Pastor Pallotta (my sweet honey) preached a wonderful message reminding us of our goodly heritage in America. What a wonderful LORD'S Day!

Our special thanks go out to Bro and Sis Leamon for all their hard work in getting the fish farm ready, and for allowing us to fellowship out there. You all are truly a blessing to us at FBC. May
God richly bless all your efforts.

Old Timers' Day at Church

We are having Old Timers' Day at church Sunday. We haven't done anything quite like this at our church (at least not since my husband and I have been there) I am really looking forward to it! I DO have a couple of sewing projects going that I will be SOOOO glad to complete. I am making Emily a bonnet and myself an apron. I am a novice seamstress (to say the least) so I am hoping that they will turn out to look like what they are supposed to. :) I 'm going to be really busy in the next few days preparing for that.

Just Having Fun

We took Emily to a park one day just to get out and spend some "fun" time. We sometimes get so busy with our responsibilities that we forget to do "fun" things. Emily loves this little park.
