Playing Catch Up

We have been so busy the last few days! It seems like I am just getting a chance to catch my breath. Saturday was opening day of Bow Season. My husband really likes to bow hunt. We eat a lot of venison, so we welcome a new deer season. He hunted Saturday morning, and was able to harvest a nice mature doe. ( This is the best eating!) Then, Saturday afternoon, we took Emily to play at some friends house, and he took ME hunting! I hunted with him last year a couple of times, but this was the first time that I hunted out of a tree stand. I did get to see a nice doe, and within my bow range ( about twenty to twenty-five yards is my limit), but she “winded” me. She watched me “eyeball to eyeball” for a couple of minutes before she ran off. I never even got to draw my bow, but I still enjoyed getting to be in the woods with my husband, and getting so close to getting my first deer. Hopefully, I will get one next time!

On another topic, we are having “Ol’ Timers Day” at church in a couple of weeks. I am very excited about this. We have never done anything quite like this. I went to the thrift store and bought a couple of things, and I MAY try my hand at making an apron. I have a couple of different ideas for something for Emily. My husband is looking forward to getting to “preach” in his overalls. We are having a special preacher in the morning service, then we are going out to the “fish farm” for an ol’ fashion lunch. We will have some ol’ fashion singin’, more preachin’, and lots of good ol’ fashion fellowship. We hope to have an area set up to take some pictures of each family, in the ole fashion duds, with an autumn background. I’m looking forward to this very special day.

Family Picture

I was looking through some old cd's for pictures and I ran across this one of our family.

It was taken on Easter Sunday 2004. I can't believe how much Emily has grown. I just had to put it on.

Ocean Pictures

Recently, my husband preached for a fellow pastor in St. Stephens, South Carolina. While we were there, we drove over to the coast to let Emily see the ocean.
